The inspiration for the Shiraz Viogner blend comes from the Cote Rotie appellation of the northern Rhone Valley in France. Traditionally, it was customary to add a proportion of Viogner to the Shiraz, thus contributing to the brilliance of the colour, and adding to the aroma complexity. Even though this blend has been practised, the presence of the Viogner has often been left undeclared.
In recent years, the Viogner has been on the rise as a stand-alone wine, revealing its varietal character in perfume-like and elegant wines.
We decided to recreate the tradition of Shiraz Viogner blending, bringing together premium Shiraz grapes and our outstanding Viogner, fully acknowledging the synergy achieved by this fascinating combination.
